"Point"

Nuvuraq was once the location of a village belonging to the Nuvurarmiut, a group of Inuvialuit who were renowned as hunters of large bowhead whales.

Like many other traditional Inuvialuit settlements, Nuvuraq was abandoned soon after Tan'ngit (Europeans) arrived in the area. Since then, the remains of the village have been washed away.
