Qilavittarvik. (PWNHC/John Poirier) |
Explore Qilavittarvik Qilavittarvik is a low flat area where people hunted geese in spring with qilavittautit, or bolas. Qilavittautit are made by tying weights to the end of strings. A hunter swings it around a few times and then throws it towards a bird. The whole thing gets tangled around the bird, which causes it to fall to the ground. |
