brought us a total of over $200.00 (40[pounds]). Skinning the skunk was a job I'll never forget. Their odour is pestilential – sickening – but after a while one gets used to it.
But everything comes to an end and so did our trapping experiences. It was time to travel again. On our return to Red River, Billy had two more dogs for us which decided us to move on down Peace River.
Dick Wynne & Billy gave us a farewell dinner and the Indians made a “Tea Dance” in our honour.
A “Tea Dance” or “Give Away” dance, as it is generally called, is really an unpremeditated effort to let off steam.
