The last two rapids “The Follies” and “The Rapids of the Drowned” were run without incident and we were safely back at Fort Smith.

Although the Mountain Rapid cannot be run by boats, it can be reached from the air and a colony of pelicans have, year after year, made it their nesting place.

They inhabit a rock right in the middle of the river where they are absolutely safe.
