The main business of the Post, needless to say, was Trading for Fur, but there were many side lines which had to be attended to.
A large supply of Wood for fuel was kept on hand and also quantities of fish, both frozen and dried, for dog feed.
The Marten pelts, as shown in the photograph, were possibly most popular as far as trading was concerned, but many varieties were brought in – Foxes, (Red, Black, Silver, Cross, Blue, and White) – Beaver, Ermine (Weasel) Otter, Fisher, Mink, Lynx,
