Everything was packed in convenient sized and shaped boxes, but occasionally one of 150 or 200 pounds would arrive and it was simply wonderful to see these carried with apparent ease. Small boys carried small parcels such as the 20 pound cases of biscuits.
Every package was clearly marked as it was packed so that there would be no mistakes. This was the only trip for that year and a parcel forgotten or mislaid had to wait till the next year. There were lots of Indians to do the work at each Post and the job was always done to the accompanyment of a lot of amusing episodes.
