Map and Journey

"Inuvialuit" translated into English means "Real People".

For at least the past 700 years, the homeland of the Inuvialuit has been in the northwestern most part of Canada in the Beaufort Sea - Mackenzie Delta area.

The Inuvialuit are closely related to Inuit in other parts of Canada, as well as the Inupiat in Alaska and the Yuit in Siberia. Although related to their neighbours, the Inuvialuit have their own distinct cultural identity, heritage and dialects.
