Nuligak (c.1895-1966) was born at a camp near the mouth of the
Mackenzie River. He spent much of his life travelling through
the western Canadian Arctic, which is the homeland of the Inuvialuit.
Nuligak was one of the first Inuvialuit to learn to read and
write. In his autobiography, "I, Nuligak", he wrote
about many of the places featured in this exhibit.
