Thule Houses
The occupants of these houses had been the
Thule Inuit. The excavation of two ruins revealed semi-subterranean
houses, with sunken entrance passages facing the river.

There were floors of closely-spaced stone slabs,
and sleeping benches at the rear of the structure.
The walls had been made of stones, a few whale
bones, and sod. The roofs were of flat stones, and whale ribs and
shoulder blades. These had since collapsed into the interior of
the building.
