Transformation - How Archaeological Sites Are Formed

The transformation from a driftwood and sod house into an archaeological site is a gradual process.

After a dwelling has been abandoned the log structure begins to collapse, and nature begins to reclaim the remains.

Shown here are remains of a dwelling that was built about 100 years ago.
